While it’s been well documented that Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns are two Superstars who have opted not to work in the current climate, there are a few others who are unable to.

There are quite a few WWE Superstars who are on the sidelines due to injury, and the company is still waiting on their returns. Here are just six main roster WWE stars who are currently out injured and when they are expected to return.

#6. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was last seen at WrestleMania where defeated Seth Rollins and seemingly ended their lengthy feud. The former Universal Champion has been an obvious absentee over the last month and revealed the reason why in an interview with Pierre Houde on RDS in Quebec.

Owens suffered an ankle injury in his win over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania and has since been sent for X-rays to determine the severity. It’s unknown which spot caused the injury, but it has been reported that he landed awkwardly when he hit the elbow drop from the top of the WrestleMania sign.

The good news here is that Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Owens shouldn’t miss a lot of in-ring action following the injury. Instead, he’s thought to be able to make his return any time now, since the injury wasn’t considered to be a major one.

#5. Xavier Woods

Xavier Woods suffered a torn Achilles in a live event match in the fall of 2019 and was later forced to undergo surgery to fix the issue. The former Tag Team Champion has since been on the sidelines, reduced to cheering for Kofi Kingston and Big E from home.

It was reported when he suffered the injury that Woods could be out for up to a year, which means that his return date could be very soon. Woods was injured back in October 2019, which means that the former Champion could return as early as October 2020. Despite this, some reports have stated that Woods could remain on the sidelines for much longer with many predicting that he won’t be making his return until 2021.

While he’s been away, The New Day has been able to reclaim the Tag Team Championships without him and successfully defended them at Money in the Bank.

#4. Ember Moon

Ember Moon is a former NXT Women’s Champion, but the War Goddess hasn’t had the same impact on the main roster. Moon was finally picking up some momentum last year, when she suffered an Achilles injury whilst running after the 24/7 Championship.

The former Champion was expected to be on the sidelines for up to a year following the injury. Moon has been seen on The Bump and WWE Backstage while she’s been out injured.

The War Goddess also updated the WWE Universe on her recovery last month where she revealed that she is still rehabbing the injury. The sad news for Moon was that the physical therapy center had closed down indefinitely just when she was making strides in her recovery.

This means that Moon has now been left to rehab the injury at home during the current pandemic which could have an affect on her return date, which could be in as little as six months.

#3. Lars Sullivan

Lars Sullivan was a beast in NXT, but since his main roster call-up, The Freak was unable to sustain the momentum.

There was a huge delay when it came to his call-up since backstage reports suggested that Sullivan suffered an anxiety attack backstage.

Sullivan later finally made his main roster debut but after a few weeks of dominance, he suffered a knee injury in his match against The Lucha House Party in June 2019.

It wasn’t thought that his injury was a severe one until a few weeks after when his rehab was progressing much slower than expected.

Reports now suggest that Lars Sullivan could be set to make his return to TV next month after spending around a year on the sidelines. Given the current climate and the fact that WWE has given employees a choice to work, it’s unknown if Sullivan will return next month or not.

#2. Kalisto

At Money in the Bank this past weekend, The Lucha House Party were forced to compete for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships without Kalisto, since he suffered a shoulder injury back in 2019.

Kalisto has been missing for several months, and the former United States Champion recently took to his YouTube channel to reveal that he suffered the injury at a live event back in December.

It has been reported that he didn’t have to undergo surgery to repair his injured shoulder, which means that he isn’t expected to spend much longer on the sidelines and could be back before the turn of the year.

#1. Jimmy Uso

The New Day defended their Tag Team Championships at Money in the Bank in a match that included John Morrison and The Miz, The Lucha House Party, and The Forgotten Sons. Many fans questioned why The Usos were not made part of this match and the simple explanation here is because Jimmy Uso is injured.

Jimmy Uso suffered the injury as part of the Tag Team Championship ladder match at WrestleMania where John Morrison was able to retain the championship for his team. While he was seen on the SmackDown episode following WrestleMania, Jimmy hasn’t wrestled since The Biggest Show of the year.

The timeline that is being reported for Jimmy Uso at present is 6-9 months, which means that The Usos won’t be in the Tag Team Championship picture for the foreseeable future.

The earliest that Jimmy Uso is expected to make his return to WWE TV is in October, and there’s no word on whether WWE will be using Jey Uso on SmackDown in his absence.
