The customization options in this game are deep and seemingly endless, with the game constantly throwing new times to add some extra flair and flourish. From hats to shirts to shoes to all sorts of skateboarding macguffins, there is likely a set of cosmetic goodies to appease any style.

What makes a majority of these cosmetic items so appealing is that they tie into the game world. For example, some of the shirts and skateboards are manufactured by in-game shops or brands. Certain story beats hint at this. There are even specific cartoon dogs featured on many shirts that are also referenced in-game. While these are small details, they enhance an already thoughtful experience.
2 Grab Tricks Can Break Objects
OlliOlli World features an inventive gameplay mechanic that has likely never been seen in any other skateboarding game. The feature in question is that of breaking objects while doing grab tricks. Once the desert world is unlocked for play, the game teaches players that in order to break through certain objects such as gems or crystals, grab tricks must be performed in the air.
There is something so satisfying about barreling down a large hill, grinding on a rail, then flying through the air while doing an awesome grab trick to only then smash through a giant purple crystal. While it doesn’t make any sort of sense in the real world, in the world of OlliOlli World, it makes perfect sense.
1 So Many Easily Missed Aesthetic Details
This game features myriad aesthetic details that only eagle-eyed skaters will notice during their playtime. By nature, OlliOlli World is a blazingly fast game. Players are constantly flying by characters, landmarks, and gnarly routes. However, there are so many small presentational details that truly make this an awesome experience. These details can typically be seen in the stage backdrops or on the overworld map.
For example, the landmarks on the overworld map often line up directly with a specific stage’s environmental layout. If players see a giant sentient tree on the overworld map then it will likely see be in the stage next to it. Similarly, stage backgrounds have waterfalls, other skateboarders, and people just going about their daily lives.
