However, there are some unknown names who broke the record of PSG’s youngest goalscorers

The Ligue 1 club have an ample number of stars, including both relative veterans and youngsters. So it gets no bigger than Kylian Mbappe when someone speaks about young star footballers at the club.

However, Mbappe isn’t the youngest goalscorer in the club’s history as there are at least five other players above him in the list. Let’s take a look at them:

#5 Jean-Christophe Bahebeck - 17 years, 9 months and 30 days

One has to travel to the relatively old days of the Parisien club to find the name of Jean-Christophe Bahebeck. The center forward caught attention playing for the reserve side. His dribbling ability and finishing resulted in clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea being linked with him.

A transfer to one of them didn’t transpire, but Bahebeck was quickly promoted to the senior side. His senior debut came as a substitute in the Coupe de France quarter-finals when the match against Le Mans went into extra time. The match was locked at 0-0 until the end of the regulation time.

Bahebeck scored his first goal for the club in the 108th minute, making him one of the youngest scorers in PSG’s history.

After that, however, his promise remained unfulfilled. A series of loan spells weren’t too helpful, and Bahebeck’s early showing didn’t become sustainable.

#4 Tanguy Nianzou - 17 years, 7 months and 5 days

Tanguy Nianzou is a French teenage footballer who graduated from PSG’s academy. He was promoted to the senior side in 2019 at a very young age based on his talent and potential. He excelled as a centre-back and was already making starts in important tournaments like the Champions League as a teenager.

Nianzou’s goal-scoring is not his main judgment parameter as he excels in closing down defenders quickly. He is also good in the air, but he is also the fourth youngest scorer in the club’s history.

Like Bahebeck, Nianzou’s first goal also came in the Coupe de France. The Parisien club played Reims on January 22, 2020, and Nianzou scored his first senior goal for the club in that match.

He followed his debut goal with brilliant performances, but an expiring contract saw Bayern Munich sign him in 2020.

#3 Nicolas Anelka - 17 years, 6 months and 6 days

Paris Saint-Germain were one of many clubs for whom French forward Nicolas Anelka donned the jersey. Anelka has perhaps the greatest legacy among the names on this list. Though a couple of other names are extremely young and have great potential.

The Frenchman was an excellent footballer who showed great finishing prowess, irrespective of the club and the league.

Over a long career, Anelka played for many big clubs, including Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. Following a poor spell at Real Madrid, Anelka had a mixed one at the Parisien club.

But it was during the first stint when he scored to become the club’s third youngest goal scorer (he was the youngest back then).

Paris Saint-Germain played against RC Lens in Ligue 1, and it was in the 80th minute when a teenage Nicolas Anelka scored his first senior goal for the club. He scored the club’s third goal of the night and helped seal the deal as they went on to win 4-0.

Anelka may have had a glittering career, but many pundits believe he could have offered a lot more.

#2 Adil Aouchiche - 17 years, 5 months and 21 days

Many at PSG regard Adil Aouchiche as one of the biggest talents at the club in recent years. Like Nianzou, Aouchiche is the club’s academy graduate who was quickly promoted to the first team in 2019 on the back of his talent. Before becoming an adult, Aouchiche was already making his debut as a starter against Metz.

Aouchiche’s first senior for the club came in the Coupe de France against Linas-Montlhery. PSG were dominant against weaker opponents and thrashed them 6-0. Aouchiche’s goal against the side made him the second-youngest scorer for the club in all major competitions.

Much to PSG’s disappointment, Aouchiche signed as a free transfer to Saint-Etienne in 2020.

He hasn’t scored many goals, but he has been getting regular game time. Given his age, it’s widely expected that he will develop a lot more in the coming years.

#1 Bartholomew Ogbeche - 17 years 1 month and 25 days

Football fans in India will easily recognize Bartholomew Ogbeche, given his performances in the Indian Super League over the last few seasons. But what many fans may not know is that Ogbeche is the youngest goal scorer for PSG to date in official competitions.

The Nigerian footballer was a PSG academy graduate and was promoted to the senior team at a young age. His debut goal came in a crucial Ligue 1 match in which they were trailing against Nantes. Ogbeche struck in the 57th minute to make it 1-1, and PSG ultimately went on to win the match.

However, Ogbeche failed to settle down at PSG, and a couple of poor loan spells and injuries made things worse. His next few club spells were ineffective. It was ultimately at the Eredivisie and the ISL, where Ogbeche has enjoyed better returns.
