But there are players who have the potential and are yet to shine for their clubs. Youth academies and several competitions at the youth level have given us a glimpse of their talents. With clubs investing a lot on youth this season these players can surely increase the level of their game.

So, here are the 5 young football talents to look forward to for the next season.

#5 Alphonso Davies (18 years) - Bayern Munich

After a successful start to his career in the MLS, Alphonso Davies’ talents were witnessed by Bayern Munich. Although he hasn’t played much this season, the winger has shown flashes of brilliance, especially while dribbling.

Bayern struggled at the start of the season because of their ageing squad and the difference in gameplay that Niko Kovac brought along with him. The gaffer, who managed a young Frankfurt squad and helped them to DfB Pokal glory would surely give chances to players like Davies.

Hence, the next season would give him a massive opportunity to move up the list and become a fan favorite at the Allianz Arena.

#4 Brahim Diaz (age - 19 years)

Brahim Diaz’s rise through the Manchester City youth levels was very quick and phenomenal. The attacking midfielder played at several positions under Guardiola and usually came on as a late substitute.

Although he was not given enough starts in games, he managed to show-off his skills in the minutes he played. He is credited for his pin-point vision while passing and his late runs inside the box. As a result, he was snapped up by Real Madrid last season.

Having spent most of his career in Manchester City it would be difficult for him to settle in the Real Madrid squad. But, he might be an interesting prospect to look upon in the coming season.

#3 Mason Greenwood (17 years) - Manchester United

Manchester United’s youth academy superstar was finally handed his debut in a Champions League game against PSG. From then he has made short appearances in the Premier League.

He might not have shined in the first team but his performances in the youth level can’t be overlooked. The center-forward managed to score 26 goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United’s youth team. He is also regarded as a prolific set-piece specialist.

Manchester United’s major struggle in finishing this season could be rectified by addition of Greenwood in the squad. Therefore, we might see him racking up more minutes in the next season.

#2 Callum Hudson-Odoi (18 years) - Chelsea

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been phenomenal in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign. He is a talent from Chelsea’s youth academy who was a huge target for Bayern Munich in the January transfer window earlier this year.

With Chelsea’s wingers struggling this season, it’s necessary for Sarri to give an oppurtunity to Hudson-Odoi. He has provided some stellar performances in the Europa League scoring 4 goals in 9 appearances. But, lack of game time in the Premier League made the forward to consider a move away in the summer.

Already facing a ban in the transfer window and haunted by rumors of departure of Eden Hazard, Chelsea are in a vulnerable spot. To add to that, Hudson-Odoi’s recent Achilles injury might keep him out of action at least till October. Yet, Hudson-Odoi could become a major contributor in Chelsea’s hopes for redemption after his recovery next season.

#1 Phil Foden (18 years) - Manchester City

It is difficult for someone to make a mark in a star-studded team. Manchester City’s strong squad might need some injection of youth next season. With likes of David Silva getting old, Phil Foden could be an instant and effective replacement.

The midfielder perfectly fits under Guardiola’s possession style of play and with little more guidance he could be a star of the future. We all know the role of David Silva in City’s recent successes; Phil Foden could play a similar role in City’s future achievements.

Provided he gets more game time next season, we could see another fantastic City midfielder.
